PRP vs GFC vs Exosomes for Hair Loss: A Doctor's Honest Comparison
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), GFC (Growth Factor Concentrate) and exosome therapy are all regenerative treatments used for hair thinning — but they are not interchangeable.
PRP is the most established of the three, with clinical evidence supporting its use in androgenetic (pattern) hair loss, particularly in early stages. GFC is a refined preparation that delivers a more standardised concentration of growth factors, often with less discomfort per session. Exosome therapy is a newer, emerging option; early results are promising, but it is best considered case by case.
The step that matters more than choosing between them? A proper trichology diagnosis. Hair loss can be nutritional (iron, vitamin D, protein), hormonal (thyroid, PCOS), genetic, or triggered by stress and illness. Treating the follicle without addressing the cause produces temporary results at best.
